This post will be short but very serious. One of the most important parts of your website is the meta tags on your pages. This how many search engines will see you site and pages.
The best do it yourself meta tag builder is a free yes free one. Its called METTY
You can download it for FREE HERE
Once you download it and install the program read the online help in the program. There is also a online tutorial that will be of great help.
I was given this program a few years ago and I use it every time I build a web page or update my keywords or site description.
Now is the important part what do I say in Meta Tags ?
First is the site title (by now you know what your site is about SO name your site the same (ie. Joe's fishing corner)
next keywords what are the main keywords of your page ? this is the most important part keep your keywords direct to what your site is about (ie fishing fly fishing what ever fits in about your page)
Then page description keep this brief a short sentence about your site or page
Now just follow what the online help in Metty and you should just fine.
When you are finished with metty all you have to do is cut and paste its a great system
